Gauntlet has already been confirmed to be being changed by the developers; back in May Arrowhead Game Studios announced they would be reworking the game to bring up to the standard they want and ensure they game reaches it’s full potential.
Now Arrowhead Studios have announced that the PC game will be coming to the Playstation 4 in August this year.
Gauntlet: Slayer Edition is a more modernised version of the Gauntlet 1985 arcade classic. This new version is an action-RPG that allows you to play as one of four classes while playing co-cooperatively with friends locally or online. Arrowhead Studios labels the game as a ‘dungeon brawler’.
In a recent update on the official website the new Gauntlet: Slayer Edition was revealed along with some information about the enhanced game.
A note from game director Emil Englund revealed this was not a straight port of the game but instead it’s a “stronger, cooler and more slayer-y version” than the PC version of the game. Many of the games assets were improved upon including the characters, environments and game mechanics. They’ve also added a new game mode, more abilities and added more depth to characters.
The PC version of Gauntlet is still getting it’s free update though no date has been given for that just yet.
