Rise of the Tomb Raider on Xbox One does run at 1080p. Crystal Dynamics have confirmed that the game demo does run at the stated resolution, though the final resolution for the finished product remains unclear.
Creative director Brian Horton clarified through Twitter that the demo was in fact running in full HD, writing that the perceived 900p resolution could have been caused by “incorrect reporting.”
The final resolution for the project hasn’t been confirmed yet, though Crystal Dynamics have stated in the past that they are aiming for a 1080p release.
The hope remains that the game will look much better than its predecessor, due to the technology it’s now running on.
Rise of the Tomb Raider will be released on Xbox One and Xbox 360 in November, as a timed exclusive. It will then be released on the PlayStation 4 and PC some time in 2016.
