The dream doesn't die as Del Toro and Kojima still working together
Even after the fall of their beloved Silent Hill project, famous writer and director Guillermo del Toro talks to IGN and eases disheartened fans:"I love working with Kojima-san. We are still in touch. We are still friends and working into doing something together, but that’s not going to be Silent Hills."Having mentioned earlier in the infancy of Konami's decision to pull the plug on the project, he had assured fans that he was still willing and would love to work with Kojima again. This gives us a more solid confirmation that there definitely is something in the works between these two. No mention if Norman Reedus or Junji Ito will be participating in this project; especially with Del Toro's quip about the game not going to be Silent Hills-esque.

The interview also gives us a bit more information as to why Guillermo del Toro was so happy with working with Kojima:
“We were talking about really pushing the boundaries of the new consoles, and making the game really mess with your head. One of the great moments in Metal Gear Solid was Psycho Mantis. The idea that a game can actually interact with you, and stuff like that.”
A very memorable scene in gaming as well as many ingenious works by Kojima. It’s for this reason I know he’s going to be successful even without Konami. Having a director like Guillermo del Toro as a huge help as well? I have nothing but high anticipation for this secret project that they’re working on!
