Skylanders: Superchargers is the upcoming iteration of the hit series. It has been revealed recently that the special editions of the game for the Wii and Wii U will come with exclusive versions of the Skylanders/Amiibo hybrids.
Activision has announced that Skylanders: Superchargers will receive a special edition called the Dark Edition. This special edition will come to PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. The special edition will also be coming to Wii and Wii U, but will have special editions of the Skylanders/Amiibo figures announced at E3 this year.
The Wii U Dark Edition will come with the Spitfire and Hot Streak figures that come on all consoles, but will also include the dark version of Turbo Charge Donkey Kong. It will also come with a dark version of the Barrel Blaster, Donkey Kong’s Skylanders vehicle. The Wii version also comes with Spitfire and Hot Streak, but will instead come with the dark version of Hammer Slam Bowser, along with his vehicle, the Clown Cruiser.
The Dark Versions will release along a standard starter pack, which comes with all the normal colorings of the figures. Thus, Amiibo collectors will have to buy both versions on both consoles to obtain all four figures.
Skylanders: Superchargers Dark Edition will set players back $100, with the normal version releasing for $75. The 3DS and iPad versions of the game will run $65, and come with the regular versions of the figures.
Skylanders: Superchargers will release on September 20th. It will release on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Wii, Wii U, 3DS, and iPad.
