Destiny’s newest expansion, The Taken King, is due out this September and with it comes “King’s Fall,” what is described by creative director Luke Smith as “objectively and emphatically” the game’s biggest raid to date.
In an interview with Game Infformer, Smith said that “it is a journey that we hope players and their friends are going to remember. We’re really excited about it, and we think it will raise the stakes again for what the raid team is asked to deliver next time. It’s big.”
When asked about the significance of this raid in the upcoming expansion’s story, Smith confirmed that “the raid is really the culmination of that story.” The raid was made with hard mode in mind and then later scaled down for the normal mode. Despite that, senior design lead Sage Merrill has said that there is an exciting twist to be found in this raid and that “it’s not just going to be Normal and Hard mode.”
