Koji Igarashi is well known for his influence on the adventure genre as the creative director of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. In fact, he’s had such an impact that some fans have taken to naming the 2d side-scrolling explore-em-up genre “Igavania” in honor of the man.
Igarashi’s most recent project, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, has a new character on its way as revealed at the Gamescom Xbox presentation. The unnamed character is a dual-sword wielding demon hunter that has been hunting demons 10 years prior to the events of the game:
In addition, Bloodstained will have cross-platform multiplayer.
Igarashi recently left Konami over creative differences to start his own independent studio ArtPlay along with. Bloodstained, the first project from raised over $5.5 million on Kickstarter, and smashed a number of its stretch goals with over 64,000 backers.
