The most recent patch for Diablo III: Reaper of Souls is exclusive to the PC. However, in an interview with IGN, Blizzard’s senior game producer, Rob Foote, might be revisiting the idea of the PC exclusive “Seasons” for consoles. Diablo III: Reaper of Souls was released for the Ps4 and Xbox One last year, however, the ‘Seasons’ feature has been only available to those who still play the massively popular Diablo series on their computers. That may be soon to change.
Sometimes Seasons aren’t really about the leaderboard, but having a fresh start… So I think maybe that’s something we need to re-evaluate again. We’ll probably go back and revisit that decision,” said Foote.
What has me particularly excited about being able to play on the console is the overall capacity for a larger pool of players for others to interact with that are part of the Playstation Network and Xbox Live community. Having Seasons open for consoles will largely improve playability for the console version of Diablo III as well as create some linkeage between the existing PC players and the gamers that reside on the couch. Other than better drops and the ability to capture legendary powers and import your newly made character into your roster at the end of the Season, I believe the 2.3.0 patch will bring about some popular demand for the Seasons to hit consoles, as it should.
