After than the less than spectacular release of Attack on Titan: Humanity in Chains earlier this year, Koei Tecmo announced at Gamescom that they will be making their own Attack on Titan game for PS3, PS4, and Vita.
It was also announced that Omega Force, the studio behind the Dynasty Warriors franchise, will be developing the game. Little is known about the project aside from a brief trailer. It would seem that the game functions almost as a reverse Dynasty Warrior game. Instead of exceedingly powerful warriors bashing through waves of enemies, the player will lead an army of humans to combat the titans.
This isn’t the first time Omega Force has created a game using an existing franchise. Last year they released Hyrule Warriors, a Zelda game featuring Dynasty Warriors gameplay. They also developed Dragon Quest Heroes, a game of similar premise using Dragon Quest characters. While the game has been out in Japan since February, it won’t be released in the west until October.
Koei Tecmo’s Attack on Titan game will release sometime in 2016.
