Facebook manages to reach 1 billion users in a single day
Facebook hit a new milestone earlier this week when over 1 billion users logged onto the website in a single day on Monday, August 24. The social media website had never reached this number of users in one day prior to Monday."For the first time ever, one billion people used Facebook in a single day, " Mark Zuckerberg wrote on his Facebook page. "On Monday, 1 in 7 people on Earth used Facebook to connect with their friends and family."

“For the first time ever, one billion people used Facebook in a single day, ” Mark Zuckerberg wrote on his Facebook page. “On Monday, 1 in 7 people on Earth used Facebook to connect with their friends and family.”
Zuckerberg expressed his admiration for the community that has surrounded his social media platform, claiming it’s “just the beginning of connecting the whole world.”
“I’m so proud of our community for the progress we’ve made,” he continued. “Our community stands for giving every person a voice, for promoting understanding and for including everyone in the opportunities of our modern world.”
“Thank you for being part of our community and for everything you’ve done to help us reach this milestone. I’m looking forward to seeing what we accomplish together.”
Facebook most recently hit 1.49 billion users most recently reported on June 30, 2015. The website had previously hit 1 billion users in October 2012.
