Fergal Gara steps down as head of PlayStation UK
Fergal Gara has recently announced his intention to step down as the managing director of PlayStation UK and Ireland.Sony has said that Gara left to “pursue a new professional venture.” It is currently unknown whether he intends to stay in the games industry.

Warwick Light, the managing director of PlayStation in Eastern Europe and the Nordics, will be assuming Gara’s position.
Gara oversaw rapidly increasing adoption of the PS4 in the UK and Ireland. Jim Ryan, head of PlayStation Europe, has described Gara as “an extremely talented leader.” Under Gara, the PS4 has sold over two million units in UK.
Gara said the following in regards to his resignation:
“I have had a fantastic time leading the PlayStation business in the UK and Ireland over the past four years. I am very grateful for having had this opportunity and I want to thank my team who has been amazing and, of course, Jim, for his support along with the wider PlayStation family who have helped make this period as successful as it has been.”
