Final Fantasy 15 will be getting a simultaneous worldwide release. Director Hajime Tabata revealed last week that the game was on track for release before 2017, implying the possibility of a 2016 release.
When asked about the work he had been putting into the project Tabata revealed that Final Fantasy 15 would be the first of the series to receive a simultaneous worldwide release.
“This may be something that we are little bit embarrassed to talk about, but really, this is the first time that we’ve done a packaged, standalone Final Fantasy game with a simultaneous global launch, so we didn’t have the setup to deal with that, really. The first thing we had to do was rearrange our internal structure to create something that could do that. That was the first important work on the project.”
Final Fantasy has had some issues when it came to western releases with sequels being renumbered.
No release date has been given for the game, but it will release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One
