Final Fantasy VII: Re-Imagined is a 2D brawler based on the legendary title. The beat-em-up comes from developer PD Design Studio, and brings along a lot of features inspired by Final Fantasy VII. Gamers play as either Cloud or Tifa, and can play cooperatively with a friend.
Features for the game include the use of Materia, being able to summon Guardian Forces, and being able to call Barret in for support. Like in the original, players will be able to upgrade their Materia, as well as the playable character move sets.
As this is not a Square Enix -sanctioned project, the team may run into some problems. The game will be free-to-play, and is being “done purely for fun.”
You can play the game in your browser from the project’s website. You can also download it to run from your PC. There is only one level completed at the moment, with the possibility of bugs, though the team is trying to clean that up.
There is no word on when Final Fantasy VII: Re-Imagined will be complete, though the project does look promising so far. The official Final Fantasy VII remake was announced at E3 this year. The title does not have a release window at the moment, though it may be some time before it sees the light of day.
