Grand Theft Auto V ships 54 million copies
Take-Two Interactive has announced that Grand Theft Auto V has shipped over 54 million copies worldwide. This is up from 52 million just three months ago. Grand Theft Auto V is the fourth best selling game in history, only behind Tetris, Wii Sports, and Minecraft. GTA V has helped Take-Two tremendously. According to Take-Two's latest earning report their revenue rose to $366.4 million. That is an increase of more than $200 million from this period last year.

Grand Theft Auto V was released for two different generations of consoles. It was originally released for the Xbox 360 and PS3 back in September 2013. Then it was remastered, two years later, for the current generation of consoles: PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Take-Two provided incentives, such as improved graphics and an exclusive first-person mode, for previous owners of GTA V to buy it again on the new consoles.
