The Rockstar Editor is coming to Xbox One and Playstation 4 in the latest Grand Theft Auto V update.
In a surprise end to the latest blog post, Rockstar revealed that the editing software used by many to make machinima and highlight reels of their games will be coming alongside the newest content update. This was announced in tandem with revealing the winner of the current Ill Gotten Gains Editor competition. The full quote can be found below
“The upcoming launch of the Rockstar Editor for PS4 and Xbox One as the next update to Grand Theft Auto V and GTA Online means the next Rockstar Editor contest will be the first one with entries across all three platforms,” it read.
The Rockstar Editor first came to Grand Theft Auto V in April, exclusive to the PC version. It allows players to record, edit and share videos of their gameplay. It contains a variety of tools such as camera filters and depth of field changers to customise these videos to a very comprehensive level.
The Director Mode is considered a highlight of the Rockstar Editor and is becoming increasingly popular with machinima creators. It allows users to stage scenes and manipulate characters to produce bespoke clips otherwise inaccessible in the game itself.
