Konami reports 159% Q2 profit increase
Earlier today Konami, developers of the Metal Gear franchise, reported very strong quarterly results for the three-month period ending on June 30th.

Compared to last year, Konami reported an increase in total revenue of 5.3 percent which equals out to $410 million (¥51.2 billion) up from $390 million (¥48.6 billion). Their total profit was the highlight of the of the report, up a whopping 159.9 percent or $30 million (¥4.28 billion).
Digital Entertainment, a division of Konami, reported an increase in revenue of 16.7 percent or $190 million (¥23.7 billion) and a significant increase in profits of 78.5 percent or $50 million (¥6.5 billion).
Jikkyou Pawafuru Puroyakyu, a mobile game that surpassed 13 million downloads since its December 2014 release, contributed to to these numbers as well as other mobile games that gained “stable income” including Star Wars: Force Collection and the PES Collection.
Upcoming titles including Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain and Pro Evolution Soccer 2016 are expected to help Konami continue this positive growth with huge sales.
