How could a trailer for a game unveil so little and yet tell us so much? Edmund McMillen of Super Meat Boy and Binding of Isaac fame is working together with his dear friend James Id to create a ” ‘whodunit’ hyperrealisic police sim where you must finger the guilty and clean up this darn city using the descriptions of the local busy bodies”. What you get is an interesting inner mind look at your fingers. Oh and also a released date.
Fingered is to be released on Steam on the 18th of August for the price of $1.87 USD; which is a odd price barring the fact that it relates to the penal code for homicide in California. There are some actual in game screenshots on the steam page provided below and a feature list that is just as ambiguous as the trailer:
- 21 levels of confusion
- a few billion randomly generated people to finger/murder
- barking
- loads of secret celebs to murder!
- find yourself in the criminal data base!
- buttons
- sounds
- menus
Look I’ll level with you, this game had my curiosity when Ed started making ‘fingered’ jokes on twitter. This trailer has my attention now. I’m a sucker for zany, over-the-top ridiculous premises and humor.
