Miyazaki claims he can juggle Bloodborne DLC and Dark Souls 3 simultaneously
Bloodborne director and one of the leading minds on the Souls series Hidetaka Miyazaki has claimed that Bloodborne’s upcoming expansion will not be impacted by his work as director on the upcoming Dark Souls 3. Despite the overwhelming positivity surrounding Bloodborne and its fast, frantic new take on the traditional Souls franchise, fans recently grew worried about its future when the next Dark Souls was announced. Miyazaki was assumed to be working on the DLC, so news that he would be director on a new project threw into question just how much attention he would be able to give to an expansion."The bottom line is, I think I can do it. I believe I can do both the Bloodborne DLC and Dark Souls 3. This isn’t the first time I’ve had to work on two projects at the same time," he said. Miyazaki went on to explain that while working on Demon’s Souls he was also working on Armoured Core: For Answer and that for the original Dark Souls he was both producer and director.

“The bottom line is, I think I can do it. I believe I can do both the Bloodborne DLC and Dark Souls 3. This isn’t the first time I’ve had to work on two projects at the same time,” he said. According to Miyazaki, the director of Dark Souls 2—Yui Tanimura-san—has already joined the Dark Souls 3 team which will allow him to “work on core gameplay design while other things are taken care of.” He concluded his point by assuring fans that “as long as I am listed as game director on the end credits, there’s a certain level of quality the game needs to meet. I can guarantee that the game quality will reach that.” Given his impressive pedigree, I’d say Miyazaki has earned our trust in making two quality products at once. Do you think he’s bitten off more than he can chew, or is Miyazaki the only one the Souls series should turn to for now? Let us know in the comments.
