Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment is “very sorry” to announce that they will not be releasing “old gen” versions of their hit fighting game, Mortal Kombat X.
In an announcement on the website forums, they state their teams have “worked diligently to meet the quality standards set by the current-gen versions of the game. We were not able to get the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions to the quality expected of a Mortal Kombat game and are very sorry for not being able to deliver the products as originally planned.”
Considering Mortal Kombat X quickly rose to the charts as not only the best-selling game in the franchise but the best-selling game for the first half of 2015 after only being released on PC, Xbox One and PS4, I’m not sure they’re that sorry.
All online pre-orders have been cancelled. If you are among those who have preordered the game from a retail location you are able to get a full refund by returning to that store.
