All’s quiet on the Halo TV front. With Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn being an, arguable, mediocre film, and the announcement of Halo: The Fall of Reach being released with Halo 5, and rumors around a Halo movie, it’s no wonder. Recently some news has surfaced as to the legitimacy of the Halo TV show.
While it may not be seen for quite a while, Showtime president David Nevins told a reporter for IGN that Showtime would be picking up the TV show and that it is currently in the works. “It’s still in development. Still in very active development,” he stated when asked about the TV show. When asked whether he could let those anticipating the show in on any details, he simply stated, “No time soon.”
Part of the reason it’s taken so long for Microsoft and Showtime to come to a deal is due to the exclusivity that Microsoft wanted to have with the show streaming on both the cable channel and on the Xbox One. As well, different forms of increased interactivity are rumored to be present if you stream the show on an Xbox One. With a deal confirmed and Steven Spielberg attached to the project, there’s a good chance at the show following through. Whether we’ll see that show soon is another question entirely.
