The long-awaited first major patch for Rocket League has finally been made available. The 108MB patch brings the version number up to 1.03. It fixes a number of bugs and issues, as well as supplying some new features.
Quick Chat commands can now be used in cross-platform between PC and PS4, stat tracking finally works, and AI Bot skill levels now adjust with the average skill level of the current players of a game.
But the biggest change is a move to punish people who quit matchmaking early
“The first player to abandon a “Ranked” match is now banned from matchmaking for 15 minutes”
Another free update is scheduled to come out soon alongside the game’s first DLC. This will include a spectator mode, new arena, new flags, 3v3 ranked playlist, and customization options that seem to function like mutators from Unreal Tournament.
