Pro Evolution Soccer 2016 was initially expected to be running at 1080p on Xbox One, but it has been discovered via the recent release of the demo that it just falls short of the figure. Of course, demo’s aren’t representative of the final build, but Konami have admitted to failing to make the game run at 1080p.
Konami’s Adam Bhatti pointed out that the sacrifice had to be made in order to “keep FPS and game quality high.” As a result, “We’re going to be just shy of native 1080p,” he said. He also pointed out that “no one will be able to tell the difference” between the Xbox One and the PS4 version of the game, with the latter being able to reach 1080p.
PES 2016 is out on September 15 across all platforms.
