According to a statement from The Pokemon Company, the Wii U version of Pokken Tournament will boast "amazing graphics and smooth, fluid movements."

Pokken Tournament was first revealed in August 2014. The game is in development by Tekken studio Bandai Namco, and is being overseen by veteran producer Katsuhiro Harada. Playable Pokemon include Pikachu, Machamp, Charizard, and Gengar. The game will also feature a special Pikachu named “Pickachu Libre.”
Harada stated that the goal for the game is for it to appeal to all fans of Pokemon. “Whether you are a casual player, a regular player, or a hardcore player, anyone who likes Pokemon can have fun.”
