Playin’ games, payin’ bills.
If you’re reading this then you’ve likely got at least a passing interest in gaming. And wouldn’t mind earning a living by playing your favourite game. With the meteoric rise of e-sports in recent years, paying the bills by playing games has become a real option for some.
Well, Sumail “Suma1L” Hassan Syed is doing a little more than just paying the bills. At the age of 16 he’s just become a millionaire by helping North America’s Evil Geniuses win the Valve 2015 International Dota 2 Championship. They beat favourites, China’s CDEC, by 3-1.
The EG team as a whole earned $6.63 million dollars by winning the event.
Here’s hoping Sumail can handle the pressure that comes with being a young prodigy. For now though, I’d dare say he should enjoy a nice holiday, and buy a Ferrari, and buy me a Ferrari…
