Rare Replay rose to the top spot on the UK games sales chart this week, becoming developer Rare’s first game to top the chart since the release of Banjo-Kazooie in 1998 on the Nintendo 64.
For the week ending August 8, Rare Replay was the only new entry on the chart, of which the full listing can be seen below.
- Rare Replay
- Lego Jurassic Park
- Batman: Arkham Knight
- The Elder Scrolls Online
- Grand Theft Auto 5
- FIFA 15
- Battlefield Hardline
- Rory McIlroy PGA Tour
- F1 2015
- Minecraft: Xbox Edition
Rare Replay was considered a budget title in the UK, releasing at a price of £19.99, making it also the first budget title to reach the top of the charts since Wii Fit Plus did the same in 2009.
Rare Replay on Xbox One is a compilation of 30 of the developer’s titles in celebration of their 30th anniversary. In our review, we said, “Although there is nothing that will beat the nostalgia of blowing into your cartridge (did this actually help?) before inserting it into the console, Rare Replay creates a convenient one disc system for anyone looking to enjoy the games once again. The ports for Rare Replay are some of the best you will experience.” Check out the entire review right here.
