Recent The Witcher 3 patch brings frame rate improvements to consoles
Following the hefty patch 1.07 to The Witcher 3 back in July, which brought multiple large changes to the RPG, many players reported severe frame rate problems in the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game. With the most recent patch, 1.08, these problems seem predominately fixed.
Following the hefty patch 1.07 to The Witcher 3 back in July, which brought multiple large changes to the RPG, many players reported severe frame rate problems in the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game. With the most recent patch, 1.08, these problems seem predominately fixed.
With the patch notes including, “Overall improvements to performance, including some issues that may have been caused by 1.07,” many of the frame rate locks, as low as 20 fames per second in some locations, have been removed, returning the game roughly to its performance levels prior to the 1.07 patch. In an analysis of the new patch, it was found that high intensity areas, such as Crookback bog and the Novigrad Market, now sit at an average of 30 fps instead of the lower, locked numbers of the previous patch.
Patch 1.08 brings along a long list of other improvements as well, including bug fixes and even a new feature allowing the player to roll before hitting the ground to avoid a large amount of the falling damage. You can find them all in the full patch notes.
