One of Sony’s upcoming projects has finally gotten a release date. Sony announced, via Variety, that the Uncharted movie will be released on June 30th, 2017.
Uncharted, a popular video game franchise from Naughty Dog, was first announced to be coming to the big screen back in 2009. The project has fallen apart many times sine then and even had a rumored release date back in 2016, but now it seems that the Uncharted movie is finally on track.
Many different actors have been linked to the project such as Mark Wahlberg, and Robert DeNiro. The role of main character, Nathan Drake, was offered to Chris Pratt, but he reportedly turned it down.
While the movie may not be coming until 2017, the video game franchise will be pushing out games much sooner. The re-mastered trilogy is set to be released on October 9th of this year for PlayStation 4 and the fourth installment of the franchise, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, is set to be released in 2016.
