Publisher EA and developer DICE recently revealed the Supremacy mode for the upcoming Star Wars Battlefront, featuring checkpoints for two sides to control.
Supremacy is a mode similar to Battlefield’s Conquest, in which players must capture and control command points that are either neutral or controlled by the opposing team. Supremacy understandably features the games biggest maps, and include power-ups that enable users to play as either Heroes or Villains.
Previously, the mode was said to only take a total of 10 minutes long, which is slightly confusing for such as long and drawn out battle. DICE lead multiplayer designer Dennis Brannvall has since explained that single matches of the mode can go on for far longer than 10 minutes.
“Clarification on the Supremacy blog: each time a control point is claimed, time is added” the designer stated on Twitter. “A close Supremacy match can go on forever.” Brannvall failed to state how much time would be added for each checkpoint captured, but this is good news for Supremacy nonetheless.
Star Wars Battlefront will be released on November 17th in North America and November 20th for Europe, on PC, Playstation 4 and Xbox One.
