Independent developer Metalhead Software has released Super Mega Baseball: Extra Innings today for the Xbox One.
Previously released on Playstation 3 and Playstation 4, the Xbox One version has new content and features such as more stadiums and “enhanced gameplay and improved baseball simulation” not seen on Sony’s systems, although those features will come them with a free patch and DLC in September.
Not an officially licensed game of MLB, you won’t find any professional teams, players or stadiums. What you will find, however, is a fun game to play with a solid core of good game mechanics. “Super Mega Baseball to us is a celebration of baseball and its culture, and I think we’ve also done the sport justice from a simulation perspective,” Metalhead cofounder Scott Drader said in a statement.
Super Mega Baseball: Extra Innings costs $19.99 for the Xbox One, but Xbox Live Gold members receive an extra 15% off if purchased within the next ten days. The discount will also be available for a limited time when the game is released on PC come August 21st.
