Norwegian studio Funcom announced on Wednesday that they are working an experimental horror PC game titled “The Park.”
The game is described as “short and intense” and is being developed by Funcom’s team in Oslo, Norway. It is set to launch in October 2015.
The game is set in an unsettling amusement park “where a dark sinister secret is waiting to be uncovered,” reads the game’s online description. The trailer, which can be seen below, gives off a creepy vibe.
The character you play as is named Lorraine and her son, Callum, goes missing in the park
“Amusement parks are happy places, filled with the innocent joys of childhood and the exhilarating rush of hair-raising, but safe adventure,” reads a line from the Funcom’s announcement of the game. “Balloons, cotton candy, and fantastic rides to be dared. Perhaps that is how Lorraine pictured it too when she brought her son Callum to one… just before it descended into the most terrifying nightmare of her life.”
Funcom has also stated that this game will be leading the charge in what they’re calling their new business model, which is said to include smaller and more experimental titles.
