September’s Games with Gold have been announced for the Xbox One and Xbox 360. Four games in all, two on each platform, the list includes Deer God and Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition for Xbox One, and Battlestations Pacific and Crysis 3 for Xbox 360.
Available all month long, Deer God is a pixel art, side-scrolling, procedurally generated indie platformer in which you play as a deer. The games description reads, “The hunter becomes the deer, the deer the hunter. Find others like you, discover new areas, avoid wilderness creatures, and search for hidden secrets.”
Meanwhile, also on the Xbox One, available from September 16th through the 30th, Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition is the current gen rerelease of 2013’s reboot. If you haven’t experienced Lara’s origin and her first steps towards becoming the tomb raider we all know and love, now is the time, before the sequel, Rise of the Tomb Raider lands this fall.
Then, on the Xbox 360 side of things, Battlestations Pacific, available September 1st to the 15th is a real-time WWII naval tactics game. And, available September 16th to the 30th, Cryris 3 is a sci-fi, first-person shooter set in the gorgeous sandbox playground of a ruined and overgrown New York City.
Even for those who have moved on to current gen, keep in mind it might be worth picking up the last-gen games as they might one day become available though the Xbox One’s recently revealed backwards compatibility.
