WildStar begins free-to-play closed beta
NCSoft and Carbine Studios have recently announced the change to a free-to-play model for MMORPG WildStar. The transition begins with a closed beta that all current subscribers are able to access. Players wishing to join the game can apply for a beta key on the WildStar website.The shift to a free-to-play model will include the release of new content for the game. Some features you can expect are:
NCSoft and Carbine Studios have recently announced the change to a free-to-play model for MMORPG WildStar. The transition begins with a closed beta that all current subscribers are able to access. Players wishing to join the game can apply for a beta key on the WildStar website.
The shift to a free-to-play model will include the release of new content for the game. Some features you can expect are:
- a new instance known as Alpha Sanctum
- a new RNG based reward system
- changes to character creation
- new program established for players who have spent money through either subscription plans, purchasing of items, or redeeming of in-game C.R.E.D.D.
Other changes include modifications to daily login rewards, sprint function,and navpoints. Carbine Studios hopes to get feedback from the community during this closed beta phase to improve the game even more before the big free-to-play launch coming Fall 2015.
