The update to Windows 10 launched only a few days ago on the 29th July. Since then the new OS has reached 14 million installs. Microsoft announced beforehand that the updates would be going out in waves and it seems that was only the first phase of many.
Microsoft wrote on their blog “We have seen unprecedented demand for Windows 10, with reviews and customer feedback overwhelmingly positive around the globe. We are doing everything we can to upgrade the world to Windows 10 as quickly as possible over the coming days and weeks ahead.” This was posted just two days ago and it looks like Microsoft have made good on their word.
Yusuf Medhi who wrote the blog post, said “We appreciate everyone who has upgraded to Windows 10 – and we appreciate everyone who will upgrade in the days and weeks ahead as we make our way toward one billion devices running Windows 10 in the next few years. Windows 10 is the best Windows ever and we are committed to making it better and better with ongoing innovations and security updates.”
Yusuf wrote particularly that he hoped to see Windows 10 running on one billion devices, which he expects to see by 2018.
Windows 10 has so far been installed on 14 million devices and the number keeps on growing. If you’re one of the 14 million who installed Windows 10 in the past few days, or you’re waiting your turn, be mindful that the new OS has had some questionable privacy issues brought up.
We will keep updated with Windows 10 news as it moves out to more people.
