Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, the acclaimed indie adventure title, will come to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on August 12th via digital copies. The disc release is set to launch on September 4th in Europe, although it’s unclear whether or not the US will be getting physical copies.

The Xbox One and PS4 versions of A Tale of Two Sons comes with additional content that isn’t available in the original game, chch released on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC in 2013. New content includes a full Director’s commentary, soundtrack and art galleries.

The gameplay is fairly simple, with the controls adding an interesting and difficult element to this tale of two brothers. Each thumbstick on the controller is mapped to a brother; you have to navigate your way to the Tree of Life, to find some of that life saving water and save their sick father. It’s a journey of emotional turmoil and challenging puzzles, for which it received critical acclaim.

A mobile version is also in development and is scheduled for launch in summer for iOS and on Android devices. This shows the dexterity of what is a cute platformer with characters you get attached to.

The original idea for A Tale of Two Sons was created by a Swedish filmmaker, Josef Fares. He’s got another game coming out soon, too, which is going to be published by EA.
