Following the devastating performance and graphical problems the game encountered on PC at launch, back in June, Rocksteady has finally released a patch they believe will greatly improve Batman: Arkham Knight on PC.

The patch was accidentally released prematurely to some Steam gamers, only to be pulled a few hours later. But from those who gained access, the patch sees to have fixed the vast majority of the issues present in the PC version of the game.

According to Rocksteady, the patch focuses on:

  • Reduced frame rate hitches
  • Optimizations for system memory and VRAM usage
  • Improved performance on all GPUs (requires the latest drivers)
  • More Comprehensive In-Game Settings
  • Fixed low resolution texture bugs
  • Fixed hitches when running on mechanical hard drives (HDD)

While a solid list of improvements, Rocksteady still recognizes there is more to be done, promising for a future patch:

  • Adding support for SLI and Crossfire
  • Adding support for the latest DLC & Season Pass content
  • Adding support for additional updates such as Photo Mode
  • Continued improvements and bug fixing for a Windows 7 specific memory issue that occurs on configurations with 8GB of system RAM and some NVIDIA GPUs during extended game play
  • Continued improvements for Windows 10 specific issues on systems with some AMD GPUs

Following the avalanche of problems at launch, the PC version of Batman: Arkham Knight was pulled from store shelves and delisted from online retailers like Stream. Currently, the game’s Steam page still lists the game for a Fall 2015 release. How is the patch doing for you? Let us know in the comments.
