2K Sports has responded to fans bemoaning the lack of Divas in the newest game in the franchise.
After revealing the full WWE 2K16 roster of 120 characters, 2K Sports received a lot of flak from fans who stated they would have liked to have seen more Divas in their newest game. 2K’s answer was as vague as their reasoning.
“We pushed as hard as we could to include Sasha Banks, Charlotte, Becky Lynch, and Bayley in WWE 2k16, but it simply did not work out for various reasons,” the developer said in their announcement.
They did not give any specifics of who they were “pushing” this idea to, who may have been against it or why it didn’t work out, but they went on to add, “We are proud to have and built the largest WWE roster to date featuring the most Divas ever. The WWE 2K16 disc includes all of the Divas on the main roster at the time we locked it in (13 playable in total).”
“We all agree the Divas Revolution is great for business and look forward to celebrating the Divas even more in future WWE 2K titles.”
WWE 2K16 is scheduled for release on October 27th in North America and October 30th internationally for Xbox 360, Xbox One, Playstation 3 and Playstation 4.
