Amazon announced Thursday they will be making a new version of their Amazon Fire TV, this time intended for “affordable, high-quality gaming.” You can get the newest Fire TV, a game controller, and copies of Shovel Knight and DuckTales Remastered for $140.
Despite the fact Amazon called the original Fire TV “absolutely not a game console,” it seems the company has reassessed their position. The Fire TV’s game library has grown over 500%, most titles costing less than $1. The Fire TV also supports Gamefly Streaming, further increasing your options.
The new Fire TV comes with a new controller featuring a new design and voice search functionality.
The Fire TV gaming edition launches on October 5.
