A sequel to Gravity Rush was announced for PS4 at Sony’s press briefing at Tokyo Game Show.
Though the game had previously been hinted at by Sony, it was officially revealed to be coming sometime next year to the company’s home console, rather than the Vita where the original title debuted.
Known as Gravity Daze in Japan, Sony also announced that a remastered version of the 2012 game will be arriving for PS4 on February 9, 2016 after being released this December in Japan. The remastered version of the original game is being worked on by Bluepoint Games and features smooth, HD graphics as well as all of the game’s DLC including the Spy Pack, The Maid Pack, and The Military Pack.
As seen in the trailer below, the Gravity Rush sequel appears to keep a similar colorful art style as the original game, as well as similar in-the-air gameplay, a large explorable world, and Nevi monsters to defeat.
Gravity Rush originally released for PS Vita in 2012. It opened to widespread critical acclaim but failed to meet sales expectations that Sony hoped. A re-release of the original game for the PS4 likely aims to draw in more players prior to the launch of the sequel sometime next year.
