Both phones will contain a 64-bit A9 chip that will have a 70% faster CPU in the iPhone 6S and a 90% CPU in the iPhone 6S plus. The chip is “capable of gaming console—class graphics performance that makes games and other apps much richer and more immersive.”
An updated camera will be able to take videos in 4K for the first time. The iSight camera will auto focus more rapidly and will capture beautiful 12-megapixel still photos, along with a new feature called Live Photos that will capture the moments before and after you take a photo, allowing you to create a moving image with sound.
The iPhone 6S and 6S Plus will have an updated fingerprint security sensor that will unlock phones twice as fast. iOS 9, the new operating system for phones will release on September 19. The new iPhones are scheduled to launch on September 25, but preorders for the devices open on September 12. Colors available include silver, gold, space gray, and a new rose gold, and are available in 16 GB, 64 GB, and 128 GB capacities.
