Hitman's release date is March 11th, this is what you'll get at launch

Developer IO Interactive announced that the new Hitman release date has been pushed back from December to March 2016, in order to create more content for the game at launch. Since then, IO have confirmed that Hitman should be released on March 11th 2016, and they have also said what you'll get with the digital launch package.Expect to see the locations Paris, Sapienza, and Marrakesh making up six campaign missions in the initial launch content. These missions have literally got hundreds of different outcomes - which IO have emphasized is a key replayability factor - as you can go back to all the missions through Contract mode, and pick out an entirely new target.

Since then, IO have confirmed that Hitman should be released on March 11th 2016, and they have also said what you’ll get with the digital launch package.

Expect to see the locations Paris, Sapienza, and Marrakesh making up six campaign missions in the initial launch content. These missions have literally got hundreds of different outcomes – which IO have emphasized is a key replayability factor – as you can go back to all the missions through Contract mode, and pick out an entirely new target.

Also coming with launch will be the addition of live content to a Hitman game. This entails time-limited targets, weekly Contracts made by the devs and promoted content produced from the community.

What comes after you’ve killed the 800 targets and played the weekly Contracts? IO are going to release one new sandbox location a month for April, May and June; you’ll be in a different country, with new disguises, weapons and signature kills.

‘April takes you to Thailand, May will see you visiting the United States of America, and June sends you across the globe to Japan,’ IO said.

The digital release for the full Hitman game is priced at $59.99 and gives the player access to ‘everything’; no content withheld and a guaranteed spot in the Hitman Beta. However, the Beta will only be on PS4 and PC.

A second way to get your hands on the game is to buy the Intro Pack, priced $34.99, which includes everything Hitman has to offer at launch. It won’t get you the content after, so if you want to show off your assassin skills in the new locations, you’ll have to then buy the Upgrade package, costing a further $29.99.

The new Hitman is set to launch on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC (digitally) with the view to sell physical copies later in 2016.
