Microsoft released a new version of the Xbox One Experience to testers and along with it, a warning of games, features, and functionality that may fail with the update. Bugs are of course to be expected with a beta test, but it’s nice for a number of them to be detailed in advance.
Notably, Destiny: The Taken King and Borderlands: The Handsome Collection might fail to launch. Also, Forza Motorsport 6 and Assassin’s Creed Unity will likely have graphical errors. The update may also bring crashes and freezing, including downloads failing to start. Apps may also fail, such as ABC News, Sling TV, and WWE. Third-party racing wheels and accessories are also having problems. These issues and others are detailed on the Xbox forums.
You can opt in for the beta, but you aren’t guaranteed access yet. Microsoft’s Mike Ybarra explained, “Our goal is to start with a group, get feedback, then roll out to larger groups for additional feedback over time.” They will be first inviting people who “historically submitted the most feedback”.
The New Xbox One Experience will include a huge list of changes including Xbox 360 backwards compatibility, an overhaul of the home screen, and improving load times by as much as 50 percent. Are you excited about the forthcoming update? Let us know in the comments below!
