Persona 5 has revealed new character, art, and screenshots.
Famitsu, a Japanese magazine, had a large article discussing the new information Atlus has revealed on their game. Located above is the new character for Persona 5. This character’s name is Yusuke Kitagawa.
Yusuke Kitagawa is a student attending Kousei Public High School. He has a scholarship for the high school’s art course. He is the disciple of the painter Madarame, who happens to be Yusuke’s landlord. In his cat burglar costume, he will be wearing a fox max with a tail.
Personas are the manifestation of a person’s personality. A persona can be summoned in order to use special skills or spells. Usually, the main character of these games is the only one who can use more than one persona. In fact, he can use around a hundred personas. The main character can become extremely flexible and useful with the personas he carries.
The screenshots are mostly of the main characters and their personas. The protagonist of the fifth installment currently doesn’t have a first or last name. The player will most likely be able to decide his first name. His initial persona will be Arsene. The main character will be able to obtain a ton of personas unlike his allies. Ryuji Skamoto’s persona is the pirate called Captain Kidd. Morgana, the cat, has Zorro. Ann Takamaki carries the persona Carmen, and Yusuke Kitagawa’s persona is Goemon.
The main characters are a collection of thieves that call themselves “Heart’s Phantom Thieves.” They send out letters to criminals to confess their crimes, and to reform themselves for the greater good. The groups objective is to steal the “rotten hearts” of corrupt people to make their city a better place. Persona 5 has yet to reveal one big villain.
Katsura Hashino, the director of Persona 5, stated that this game will be a bit different than the previous ones. Katsura stated that the style of the previous games were, “justice group chase down a bad guy that could easily be feared by just about anyone.” This time the high school students are being chased because of their “just” actions.
The main characters will be attending a juvenile school. This is also a new take on the Persona series. Katsura said the development team is, “going with a challenge that fuses together a juvenile school setting that is as large as life, together with a picaresque romance.”
The new pictures show some really cool artwork. The game will no doubt look wonderful. Unfortunately, Persona 5 has been pushed back to 2016. For more information on the delay click here.
