Koei Tecmo, the publisher of the upcoming duo Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 Fortune on PS4 and Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 Venus on PS Vita, appear to be done with their contest which will determine the nine characters that will appear in both games.
According to their website, voting ended on 9/7 in Japan and 8/30 in Asia (excluding Japan) subsequently cementing the final nine. Voting was determined by the purchase of character themes for PS4 and PS Vita systems, a clever way to build extra money while holding a contest.
The publishers released an update on 9/4 showing some character moves in the ranks, some more than others. As for how the ranks changed in the final days of voting, we’ll have to wait until 9/17 when they announce the final list at the Koei Tecmo Game Show booth. As of 9/4 the top nine warriors were:
Even if you don’t read Japanese you can probably make out the winners thus far, but I’ll tell you anyway to make it that much easier:
- Marie Rose: 17.6%
- Honoka: 15.1%
- Kasumi: 12.3%
- Ayane: 8.6%
- Kokoro: 8.3%
- Nyotengu: 7.7%
- Hitomi: 5.9%
- Momiji: 4.5%
- Helena: 4.3%
- Leifang: 4.2%
- Tina: 3.8%
- Mila: 2.7%
- Rachel: 1.8%
- Christie: 1.6%
- Lisa: 1.5%
There were six that did not make the cut at the time (Helena just barely beating out Leifang by .1%), but with the numbers so close that can easily change. As for what will happen with the characters who don’t make the final cut, there hasn’t been any word.
In addition to the top nine characters being able to be in the games, the first and second place winners will also get a unique costumes. It also appears that on Saturday, September 19th they will show a special stage at the final announcement.
