The Masterchief Collection will soon punish quitting

343 Industries has detailed an upcoming patch for Halo: The Masterchief Collection. The details for everything posted on Halo Waypoint is quite extensive, but a quick run down is the following.Capture the Flag changes. Flag Juggling is back, making it much faster to move the flag to your homebase and score by dropping and picking up the flag continuously. This will, however, allow the other team to know your position at most times. Whenever you drop the flag, a new marker is set off so that they know where the flag is.

343 Industries has detailed an upcoming patch for Halo: The Masterchief Collection. The details for everything posted on Halo Waypoint is quite extensive, but a quick run down is the following.

Capture the Flag changes. Flag Juggling is back, making it much faster to move the flag to your homebase and score by dropping and picking up the flag continuously. This will, however, allow the other team to know your position at most times. Whenever you drop the flag, a new marker is set off so that they know where the flag is.

“The loadout for the flag carrier has been a point of contention among fans of the mode for years. We loved the offensiveness of the Flagnum in Halo 4 and decided to stick with it, especially with the flag-at-home to score mechanic. In these standoff situations, empowering the carrier with a gun allows them to help support their teammates that are trying to recover their own flag while also being able to defend themselves.”

Team Double changes. With the way that the current vetoing works in the system, if a team wants a map they’ll be getting to play it. This means that the Team Doubles mode is heavily dominated by Halo 2 Classic & H2A. With the changes coming to match making, 343 industries hopes to create a bit more variety in the matchmaking.

“This system is quite different from other playlists – while it will allow for increased variety across the board, it also allows for the possibility of the same game appearing in two or even three slots. This will be rare, and the weighting ensures that over time, you’ll get a balanced mix of game types, rather than just Halo 2 Classic and H2A”

Team Action Sack changes. The way that Action Sack is presented, 343 industries is happy – so much that they are uping the team size from 4 to 8. Want to jump in with a full – or almost full – party of friends? Go for it. They’ll also be overhauling the matchmaking for this to ensure wacky game modes are much more consistent in Team Action Sack, and adding the following game modes.

Team Hardcore, Halo 4, Halo 2: Anniversary, Infection, Halo 3, Halo 2 Classic, and Team Snipers will all be receiving small changes as well.

Last, but certainly not least, is the mention of adding penalties to those who quit mid-game. It is brief, but 343 industries assures that they are getting closer!

“We know you’ve been anxiously awaiting the details on the upcoming content update for Halo: The Master Chief Collection, and work on this update is nearing completion. This CU will address a variety of areas, including ranking, will add new systems for quitting and penalties, and will improve a number of community items from the lists you’ve put together. The full details and patch notes, as well as more status updates, will be provided as we get closer to release.”
