In a new interview released today, Uncharted 4 co-director Neil Druckmann has outlined the themes that Uncharted 4’s plot will centre around.
“With Uncharted 4, as we were building it we were realising more and more what the theme is: it’s that balance between pursuing your passions and being with the ones you love, and what happens when you have to choose between those two things” Druckmann said to OPM.
“Is there a way to reconcile that? That’s the message of this game, and everything is constructed around that very simple concept” he added. It’s clear then that Uncharted 4 will see Nathan Drake tangle with his passions, both for his way of life and the people he’s surrounded himself with throughout the series.
While Uncharted 4 is set to be Nathan Drake’s last entry in the franchise, Naughty Dog hasn’t ruled out doing a possible ‘Uncharted 5’. However Uncharted 4 writer Josh Scherr recently stated that this was “hard to imagine”.
Uncharted 4 will release worldwide for the Playstation 4 on March 18th, however the remastered trilogy, dubbed “Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection” will release on October 6th for North America and October 9th for Europe.
