While we’re all excited for the Battlefront beta on October 8th, there’s been some good and bad news. The bad news is, you can only play the Battlefront Beta online the entire time. The good news is that you can still play split-screen modes and single-player missions.
“Offline gameplay will not be available within the beta,” Battlefront community manager Mat Everett wrote on Reddit. “For the beta, an Internet connection is required to play Missions.”
The beta will involve a survival mission on Tatooine that you can do by yourself, with a friend online, or split-screen. The survival missions involve fighting off waves of Imperial forces, both troops, vehicles, and air craft. The beta will also include a 40-player Hoth mission and a Drop Zone mission.
The download size for the beta is 7 gb for the PS4 and the Xbox One and 11 gb for the PC. Those on PC can pre-load the beta on October 7th.
