Destiny players will soon be able to purchase new emotes for their characters to perform in the game, but only through new microtransactions that Bungie are introducing.
The relevant details can be found on Bungie’s website, but it essentially boils down to this: players will have to purchase emotes with a currency dubbed ‘Silver’, which can only be obtained through the investment of real world money.
Silver will be purchasable through the relevant online game store (either PS Store or Xbox Live depending on the console), and the new emotes will be available for purchase from Destiny NPC Tess Everis from October 13th. There are a total of 18 new emotes available for purchase, and Bungie has assured players the emotes are optional and “won’t impact the action game in any way.”
Bungie also announced that the pricing for each emote will vary, and also that a small amount of Silver will be given to each player on the day of release (October 13th) so that they can purchase “an emote or two”. The company also explained that this new pricing structure will provide support for the live team over the next year, as it expands and creates more content for the players.
