Bethesda Game Studios has officially finished development of Fallout 4 as of today, October 23.
The studio announced the milestone on Twitter earlier today, writing “Oct 23rd – the bombs have fallen. Fallout 4 is complete. All 27 versions.” Alongside this announcement they released the below image, showcasing the box art of 27 retail copies, nine on each current platform (Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC).
Now that the base game has “gone gold,” Bethesda has begun to work on the game’s first expansion, aiming for it to launch in 2016. They’re also continuing to work on the PC version’s modding platform to get it ready as soon after launch as possible.
This is also the first time we’ve had a proper look at the cover of the retail versions. It’s confirmed as that close up of the customisable power armour we’ve all come to be very, very excited about.

There we are – as if the hype couldn’t be any higher, we know that game is officially finished. Just a case of biding our time for November 10 when the bombs really fall and we all get a chance to get our hands on a copy of Fallout 4.
