Gravity Rush 2 has been officially announced for North America sometime next year.
The sequel to the Vita-exclusive, originally announced at Tokyo Game Show earlier this fall, will be coming to PlayStation 4.
The sequel will have brand new gravity abilities, including three styles to use throughout the game. ‘Lunar’ reduces the force of gravity causing Kat to feel lighter and move quicker. ‘Jupiter’ causes an increase in gravitational force leaving Kat heavier and more powerful. ‘Normal’ is a balance between the two, similar to how Kat feels in the original title.
Gravity Rush 2 will also feature a Tag Battle system where Kat will pair up with an AI-controlled partner. In this particular gameplay demo, Kat was seen fighting alongside Raven.
“As you saw from the footage during the Paris Games Week press conference, you’ll be able to mix and match a wide variety of combat styles any way you want, so there’ll be enough action to please Gravity veterans and new players alike. And of course, there’s a whole lot more we haven’t shown you yet, so stay tuned!” said game director Keiichiro Toyama.
In additional to the sequel, a remastered version of Gravity Rush on Vita will be arriving exclusively on the PlayStation Store in February for $29.99.
