Nintendo has revealed their plans to restock rare amiibos. On the Nintendo of America’s twitter page, they stated, “Look who’s back! Little Mac, Greninja, Shulk, Lucario, Fox & Captain Falcon will be restocked @ select retailers soon.” Collectors will be pleased to have another chance to get these rare amiibos.
Before, three of the amiibos were retailer-exclusive, meaning Gamestop exclusively was selling Shulk amiibos. Toys R Us offered Lucario and Greninja. The figures have become incredibly popular, and they have come out in waves. IGN has a list of amiibos, their rarity, and the wave they were released in.
People that are unfamiliar to amiibos, they are toys of Nintendo’s characters. The toys can be used with certain video games on the Wii U and 3ds. They were first announced on May 8, 2014, and were further discussed at E3. In Super Smash Bros. for Wii U/3ds some people were mistaken as to what amiibos did. They believed using the amiibos would allow them to play as the character in the game. This makes no sense because the characters are already playable. An amiibo allows you to fight that character and train him or her. They start off at level 1 and max out at level 50. As you train them they begin to learn new combos, and they adjust to your gameplay.
