The Assassin’s Creed movie is filming now (as in, it’s not even finished), but lead role of the film, Michael Fassbender, has already expressed his hope to see a sequel to the movie.
Speaking during an interview with Screendaily regarding his take on the movie and of the franchise as a whole, Fassbander claimed that he was “absolutely interested” in seeing the series go farther than a single film.
“We’ll see how the first one does, but that’s the idea,” Fassbander said regarding more Assassin’s Creed films. “The material and the landscape is so rich, there’s definitely enough there for a franchise.”
The Assassin’s Creed film is set to be released on December 21, 2016. Fassbander plays the lead role of Callum Lynch, as well as a counterpart ancestor from 15th century Spain named Aguilar.
The film may be filming now, but you can see the first image from the set right here.
